More siding

The crew finished up the rear siding and soffits. Most of the sides are finished and the front is trimmed out and ready, but we ran out of j-channel by a few pieces. We'll get that ordered and the siding will be finished hopefully this week. We also bought paint today that matches the siding so we'll start painting the bricks soon. The house will look complete.... from the outside at least.
The siding is Certainteed D5 (5 inch) clapboard in flagstone. We love the color. Dark enough in a nice blue/gray hue. The white trim really pops on the corners, band board, and around the windows.

***UPDATE*** The color may also be called Lakeshore Blue sometimes. I just ordered some more for our garage and the siding was Flagstone, but the light boxes were Lakeshore Blue. So FYI.

  1. the siding looks great! We're about to repaint our house and so I've been thinking a lot about house colors :) I also showed Scott the pic of the front porch - what a difference... makes me think we should look into that with our house because we always lust after big front porches when we walk around the neighborhood...

  2. Thanks Abby! I've been obsessed with house colors for months now :) I'm really happy with the gray but toyed for a long time with the idea of yellow too. It's fun to think about all the possibilities - but also nice to have one picked out and finally see it on the house! Let me know what you choose - and I want to see pictures!

  4. we are building and considering the Certainteed Flagstone... question... which line of Certainteed did you use? Monogram? Mainstreet? Did you purchase through a contractor or a big box? Are you concerned with fading using a dark color? I appreciate any info!!!

  5. It's the mainstreet line. I think it's warrantied for a long time for fading so we aren't that concerned. It looks great and much cheaper than hardi and there's no maintenance.

  6. We purchased from a local building supply company. I don't think HD or Lowes carries it.

  7. That seemed like a busy day! Glad you hired a contractor to do this project. This was quite a hard task that required the expertise of professionals. I like the color of the siding, by the way. It shines beautifully under the sun.
